Ask before you snap.. Don’t take a photo without permission. There's nothing wrong with taking pictures but taking photos and videos of people without their consent is invading their privacy.

Do not get drunk.. Drinking or being drunk in public is not allowed, hotels and resort complexes allow visitors to consume on their premises only, even then you should refrain from excess.

Do not swear. Don’t use profanity in public. You must be very cautious with your language as vulgar language or rude gestures are considered obscene acts in Dubai and the rest of the UAE and could land tourists in big trouble.

Dress for modesty. Don’t dress Inappropriately, dress codes for travellers, especially for women are conservative, although it is a hot climate it's best to avoid tight, short or revealing clothes.

It's rude to cross your legs. Don’t cross your legs. Especially if you're sitting opposite someone who is older than you, this posture is considered a sign of disrespect.

Never take illegal drugs. Don’t use illegal drugs. Even a tiny amount of illicit drugs in your blood or urine is considered as possession in Dubai. If you are on prescribed medication only bring enough for your visit to avoid suspicion.

Observe Ramadan. During Ramadan people fast between sunrise and sunset, to show respect for the locals it is best to try and avoid eating and drinking in public during the day. If you do wish to eat and drink during the day, Don't be disrespectful during Ramadan, you are expected to observe the rules the same as the locals. It is prohibited to eat , drink or smoke in public places during the holy month of Ramadan. This applies to tourists as well.

Pork and Porno are a no no. As a strict muslim country pork is regarded as unclean and is banned by the Quran. Likewise pornography is as highly offensive to the moral ethics and decency so do not attempt to take in any pork products or xxx material.

To share a room you must be married. Unmarried people are not allowed to stay together. Dubai follows the Sharia law, which prohibits unmarried couples from staying together in a hotel or elsewhere.
