Notable Videogames Throughout History
From developers like Atari and Nintendo, this map contains information about videogames from the beginning. Travel through time to the start of videogames, and experience how quickly they developed. Start off with Tennis for Two, a sports game developed in New York by one of the scientists that worked on the Manhattan project! Then be whisked off into Space, with Spacewar!, developed by MIT students. Apple is a household name to everyone now, but before Jobs and Wozniak founded it, they actually worked at Atari! A challenge was set for them by Nolan Bushnell, to design and create Breakout in as few components as possible, and boy did they deliver! Ever wonder how games started incorporating music? Space Invaders has the answer! The innovative videogame was the first to have background music playing at the same time as the gameplay, even if it was only those four famous notes. Surprisingly, it started off as an idea based on Breakout! With fun from Russia, we finish off with Tetris. The deceptively addictive falling shapes puzzle game which essentially defined the Game Boy is still, to this day, being used in research for its mental effects on the human brain. #Atari #Commodore #Namco #Nintendo #Sega #Sinclair #Taito
