Mattel Auto Race
Probably the earliest hand held electronic games, Auto Race by Mattel came out in 1976. Based on calculator electronics you had to switch your 'car' between three lanes of oncoming traffic, avoiding other cars to complete 4 laps in the shortest amount of time.
