NAS Fort Lauderdale. The planes took off from the Navy Airbase at 14:10 heading due East to 'Chicken Rocks' to practice a bomb drop.

The Bomb Drop. After the planes dropped their bombs they were to continue to make a triangular route back to base

The Broken Compass. Heading North the Leader Lt Taylor radioes in that his compasses are not working and he thinks he may be over the Florida Keys .. miles away

Off Course. The pilots are confused, the leader presses north thinking he will reach Florida , his trainees think they should fly west.

The Mystery. The radio calls describing strange surroundings and a lack of debris have created myths of UFO abductions, strange sea phenomena, the mystery remains unsolved.
